Set within the southern beech canopy. A glass-walled bathing room, a wood stove, and the sound of wind through leaves that have not changed in ten thousand years.
Where ancient forest meets glacial silence — a retreat held quietly at the edge of the world.
We did not build a hotel. We made a place to disappear — fourteen lodges set into the lenga forest, looking out over the fjord and the slow blue geometry of the San Rafael glacier.
Every line of Aysén is drawn in deference to the landscape. Timber milled from windfall. Stone quarried within sight of the foundation. Glass that disappears, so the boundary between hearth and horizon dissolves with the light.
There is no lobby, no schedule, no spectacle. Only the patient rhythm of Patagonia — the calving ice, the condor's slow circle, the long southern dusk that turns the water to copper. We are caretakers of stillness, and stewards of your absence from the world.
Fourteen dwellings, each oriented to a single view. No two share the same light. Heated floors of local stone, deep soaking tubs, private terraces facing the glacier or the forest.
Set within the southern beech canopy. A glass-walled bathing room, a wood stove, and the sound of wind through leaves that have not changed in ten thousand years.
Cantilevered over the tidal channel. Floor-to-ceiling glass frames the water; king bath in quarried slate; a private cold plunge fed by mountain spring.
Our signature dwelling. A single great room oriented to the San Rafael glacier. Outdoor onsen, private guide, and a telescope for the long Patagonian dusk.
Three bedrooms, a private kitchen, and a live-in host. For families and long residencies — a home in Patagonia, not a stay. Minimum seven nights.
Chef Marisol Vidal cooks from the day — what the divers bring up at dawn, what the forest offers, what the river remembers.
There is no menu at Aysén. Each evening, a single tasting unfolds across seven courses, paired with wines from the Bio-Bio and Malleco valleys — the southernmost vineyards on earth. The dining room holds fourteen guests, by reservation only, around a single table of river-recovered alerce wood.
Breakfast is brought to your lodge in a woven basket, still warm. Lunch, if you wish, is packed for the trail.
Aysén is the threshold to a million hectares of protected wilderness. Every excursion is private, guided by naturalists who have walked these valleys for decades.
A helicopter deposit onto the San Rafael ice field. Crampon walk through blue crevasses with a certified mountain guide. Whisky chilled with ten-thousand-year-old ice.
Aboard the schooner Antares, navigate the Elefantes channel. Sea lions, dolphins, and the slow approach to a glacier wall. Lunch served on deck.
The Aysén sky is among the darkest on the planet. An astronomer guides you through the Magellanic Clouds from our mountaintop observatory. Hot chocolate, aged pisco, silence.
Our spa is carved into the hillside, warmed by geothermal spring water that has risen through the Andes for millennia.
Treatments draw from the forest and the sea — cold plunges in glacial meltwater, hot soaks in mineral springs, massage with oils pressed from local maqui and calafate. Every ritual is private, unhurried, and led by a single therapist who follows you through your stay.
Reservations are confirmed personally, by letter, within twenty-four hours.
All stays include private guide, full board, and transfers from Balmaceda (BBA).
